Black Rice (1kg)

  • Black rice is an attractive & exotic-looking grain, so it's no surprise it was once exclusively eaten by Ancient Chinese emperors - that's why it's sometimes called the Forbidden Rice. Most commonly found in South, South East and East Asian cuisine, black rice is known for its blackish-purple pigment which is known as anthocyanin and is found in other dark plants such as aubergine, blackberries and purple corn. This compound is getting a lot of attention these days because of its high anti-oxidant properties that are both fat and water-soluble.

With an earthy aroma, it's chewy & nutty flavour makes it perfect for Thai Black rice pudding , Black rice risotto, Black and White rice stir-fry or Black rice paella.
