Glutenous black rice porridge is eaten throughout South East Asia, and you may have seen it under the dessert section at your local Thai restaurant. The secret is: it's traditionally served for breakfast - we think it is a fantastic idea so we would like to share this with you.
Our porridge mix is a combination of Glutenous black rice and Glutenous white rice for a fluffy and soft porridge texture. We'd recommend you cook a little more than needed and keep it in the fridge to eat over a few days to save time on breakfast preparations - just scoop it out and heat it up in the microwave. It's perfect for rushed mornings, and you can sweeten it with syrup, agave, coconut sugar or brown sugar. Top it with fruits or nuts, flood it with plant milk (we vouch for coconut milk or coconut cream) and kids will love it. It is low GI, vegan and gluten-free.
*Yup, we know our label reads "pudding" - consider it as permission to eat pudding for breakfast. 😁

This is our elegant first-born - the first of the Grain Guru rice mixes. Korean medium grain is not your typical white rice; it keeps its shape once cooked and has a firm texture. It's slightly bigger than the sushi rice and has a faint scent. This a rice to try when you’ve truly mastered cooking white rice. It tastes beautifully on its own - the perfect blank canvas for the typical Korean table setting. We’ve decided to lace this with a bit of bulgar wheat.
Bulgar wheat gives, what would be blank carbs, a boost of protein and fibre. When cooked together, the bulgar wheat gives the rice a rich, yellow hue, which is why we’ve named this Grain Guru rice mix: Golden Era.
